A big congratulations to all of the handlers and their dogs that came to Meeker. There were still 60+ dogs on the wait list that didn’t make it in.

Judged by Bevis Jordan, Northuberland, UK, it was a great line-up of dogs that came to Meeker. Each of the 135 dogs had one preliminary run. The top 30 scores advanced to the Semi-Finals on Saturday. From there the top 12 Dogs and their handlers went on to the Double Lift Finals on Sunday.

A special congratulations to Scott Glen and 6 year-old Pip from New Dayton, Alberta.

They won the Meeker Classic this year with a score of 126. This marks Scott’s fourth championship at Meeker -winning in 2021 (Alice), 2019 (Taff) and 2005 (Pleat). Scott’s second dog, Mist placed 6th in the Double Lift. Scott and Pip had the 3rd high Score in the Semi-Finals.

Shauna Gourley and 7 year-old June from Ogden, Utah were the Reserve Champions this year.

The pair had a perfect International Shed on their score sheet. This gave them the International Shed Award sponsored by Dave Imas & Julie Grenfell, Catbird Stockdog Training in Cheney, WA. Shauna and June had the 4th high Score for the Semi-Finals

Faansie Basson had two dogs in the Double Lift.

He ended up 3rd with Finn, a six year old Male and 5th with Jack. Jack is a past Meeker Classic Champion. Finn was awarded the Biggest Heart Award. A recognition selected by the Judge for Finn’s efforts during the Double Lift on Sunday.

Bob Allen from Gower, MO placed fourth with Rock, a two year old male.

Scott Glen and Mist placed 6th in the Double Lift. They had a good trial with the highest preliminary score of 78 points.  They arlso wond the Terry Folsom Memorial Best Drive award and the Cowboy’s Lift Award for Thursday.

Fernando Loiola and Josh were 8th in the Double Lift. They also had the high Semi-Final Score of 83 points.
