2022 Judge will travel to Meeker from Maryland

At 7 am on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, the first run of the 2022 Meeker Classic will commence. One hundred thirty-five dogs will walk to the post during the three preliminary days of the competition. Linda Tesdahl, Mount Airy, Maryland will be sitting in the Judge’s Chair this year. Having competed in the Classic several times, Linda is looking forward to visiting Meeker in a different capacity.

Passionately involved with the working Border Collie since 1986.

Linda’s love of the dog and its uncanny ability to work stock led her to make choices and lifestyle changes that enable her to introduce her pups and dogs to all phases of sheep handling. While she enjoys the competitive part of sheep dog trialing, Linda’s goal is to raise and train dogs that are first fully functional, working dogs on the farm or ranch.

Linda Tesdahl, Mount Airy, MD – 2022 Meeker Classic Judge

She prefers to raising and training her own dogs as opposed to starting with a trained or started dog. The transformation and process of watching a young dog develop is so gratifying. Linda has bred a few litters of pups over the years, but usually gets pups from dogs and bloodlines she admires.

Linda credits her husband for making it possible to travel most of the country to run her dogs and compete. He stays home and does the chores on the farm when she travels. “I have many wonderful memories of meeting people, running good dogs and enjoying some success . . . as well as some humbling experiences,” says Linda of her time running dogs.

She has judged all over the country . .

Linda  tries to limit her judging to three or four trials a year. While she’d rather run her dogs, she enjoys judging and takes the job seriously. Judging her first trial in 1996, Linda’s has had so many memorable experiences – she’s judged Soldier Hollow, Lacamus, Sand Rock, NEBCA Fall Foliage, Sanoma Wine County and Borders on Paradise to name a few. She also spends time judging multiple small farm trials and enjoys the experiences of it all.

Linda is honored to be judging the Meeker Classic in 2022. . .

and we are honored to have her! She knows the challenges of the trial and looks forward to joining us while extending her wishes for the best of luck to all of the handlers!
