There’s lots of reasons to be in Meeker September 9-13, 2015! You’ll be treated to a premier sheepdog competition featuring 130 of the top border collies and their handlers from the US and Canada paired against the tough Meeker Sheep. Its a show you don’t want to miss.
Along with the dogs and sheep there’s so much more to see. We’re so excited to welcome Gary McMahan to Meeker this year. Gary is a renowned Singer, Songwriter, Yodeler, Humorist and Cowboy Poet. He will be the featured entertainment for our FREE outdoor concert this year. The outdoor concert is Saturday, September 12, 2015 on the courthouse lawn 4 – 8 pm. Gary will also be doing a short entertainment for us on Saturday during the lunch hour. Gary is known for his award-wining songs, captivating stories, humor and national championship yodeling. His songs have been recorded by artists such as Garth Brooks, Ian Tyson, Chris LeDoux, Riders in the Sky, Dave Stamey and Juni Fisher. His entertainment embodies what many believe to be the heart of the west. Gary’s planning on attending the trial all 5 days – so look him up, say hi and have a visit. It will be a real treat to have him here.
