2026 Meeker Classic Judge
Angie Coker-Sells, Tecumseh, OK
We are honored to introduce Angie Coker-Sells as the 2026 Meeker Classic Judge. A familiar face at Meeker, Angie has been competing as a handler since 1998. In 2008 she became the first U.S. judge to judge the Meeker Classic. She is the ideal person to serve as our judge as the Meeker Classic celebrates our 40th anniversary.
Angie Coker-Sells lives on her family’s ranch in central Oklahoma with her husband Scott and daughter Kyann. They maintain a flock of 200 White Dorper ewes, a small herd of Kiko goats and Angus cross cows.
Angie Coker-Sells began competing at Meeker in 1998 winnings the Reserve Championship
with Sweep. She came back the next year to win the championship with Sweep in addition tying
for Reserve with Gunner. She was also a finalist in 2000 and won the international challenge
competition against a Great Britton competitor and New Zealander.

Angie & Link 2021
After 2000 Angie took a 10 year break from trialing to raise her family, but came back after that and was honored to be a finalist again at Meeker in 2017 and in 2021. She walked to the post in the 2021 Double Lift finals with Link and Soot, ending up 3rd with Link and 8th with Soot. A great year with an impressive show for the two as they enter the prime of their lives.
Angie trains about 15 dogs a year. These are mostly dogs for clients that want a trial dog.
Angie was in college and involved showing cutting horses when she got her first Border Collie pup at a cutting in 1991.
A self-taught trainer and trailer, she’s been doing so ever since. She read several books and watched some videos, but mostly learned from doing it herself. Her philosophy on working dogs and handling stock is centered around respect and being respectful.
That translates into stockmanship and understanding the stock and the dog and getting the job
done in the most efficient, least stressful manner for all parties involved. This mindset has been
successful for Angie on the trial field, her ranch and in her stockdog training business.
