Talent and variety prevailed at the 2019 Meeker Classic Art and Photography Show this year.  Artist and Meeker High School Art Instructor, Ben Quinn served as the juror for the Fine Art Category while local professional photographer Michelle Cox juried the Photography Contest. Both were impressed with the depth of quality of the show.

Winning the Fine Art competition was Pueblo, Colorado artist Pamela Poll with her oil painting titled “Meeker Classic.”  This work will be the official artwork for the 2020 Meeker Classic and will be featured on the poster and other publicity.

Tennessee photographer Kelly Mayfield took First and Second Place honors with her photos “The Drive” and “New Beginnings”. Kelly’s  winning photography piece will be used in various publicity projects for the 2020 Meeker Classic.

Taking Reserve Honors with an acrylic titled “Reporting for Duty” by C.J. Latta, Fredricksburg, Texas.

Past art show winner, Susan Grinels, Lander, Wyoming won People’s Choice with a mixed media torn paper collage titled “Ready to Run.”

Selected for the Shirley Coy Best of Northwest Colorado Award  was a wood burning titled  “Best Job Ever” by, Minisa Robinson of New Castle, Colorado.

Selected by over 700 students that visit the Meeker Classic for the organized school program, the winner of the Johnny Wix Children’s Choice Award was an acrylic piece titled  ” Freedom on Clear Creek” by Dede Farrar of Rapid City, South Dakota.

Awards were announced during the Annual Art Reception hosted on Thursday evening of the the Meeker Classic. A full crowd of art and photography enthusiasts enjoyed appetizers, spirits and good company at the historic Wilber Barn at Ute Park for the evening.
