2010 Art Juror – Andy Goettel
Meeker Classic
International Art Contest
Meeker’s own Andy Goettel will
preside over the 2010 Meeker Classic
International Art Contest.
Mr. Goettel has been an art
instructor for 34 years.
Andy will retire in May 2010 from
Meeker High School where he has taught art
for much of his career.
During
his tenure he has taught students in a
myriad of mediums including: drawing,
acrylics and oil painting, watercolors,
pottery and sculpture, photography,
printmaking and computer graphics.
As a professional artist Andy also
operates a pottery studio called
G3
Pottery & Arts.
The work Mr. Goettel produces is a
combination of functional stoneware, raku
work and sculptural forms.
His work can be seen and is available
for purchase at the Meeker Classic Craft
Fair where
G3
Pottery & Arts have been quality vendors
and part of the Meeker Classic for years.
Mr. Goettel’s credentials are
numerous and he most recently won awards in
the Glenwood Springs Art Guild Show and the
Colorado Art Educators Show.
He
has juried many art exhibitions over his
career.
Meeker has been home to the Andy,
wife Susan and daughter, Gabrielle for
fifteen years.
The Meeker Classic is privileged to have
such a qualified local art critic,
instructor, and professional artist serve as
this year’s Art Juror.
He previously presided over the
Meeker Classic Art Show in 2007.
